Police have revealed more details about the horror crash that occurred on State Highway One in Auckland on Monday. ⁠ ⁠ An investigation is ongoing, but Counties Manukau Road Policing Manager Inspector Tony Wakelin confirmed a truck travelling south crashed through the median barrier and into a van and two other vehicles.⁠ ⁠ Three people have died including two seasonal workers who were due to travel back to Samoa later this week. A 21-year-old man remains in hospital in critical condition, and two others are in hospital with moderate injuries.⁠
